Santa Claus

FATHER CHRISTMAS

There`s a lot more about being the perfect Santa than just donning a red cost and false wig and beard. You have to have Sacks Appeal.

Every year thousands of Santas appear accross Britain each claiming to be the real one.

Unsuprisingly the children have grown a little sceptical.

So what makes for a good Santa? Being of the right proportion helpds but whether you are naturally Santa-esque or requiring fake facial hair and lots of custion, there`s a lot more to being Santa than the look. It`s about sincerity and believing in what Christmas is all about.

You have to be a great listener and you have got to be adaptable as no two children are the same.

You have to be jolly all the time, even if you are feeling down that day or a bit rough.

A good Santa will be patient and answer all the questions about the reindeer`s names and Santa`s helpers and things like that.

GOT TO BE GOOD

Santa`s main duties traditionally include finding out if a child has been good and asking what they want for Christmas, but it does not always go smoothly there can be tears and tantrums and a good Santa will be able to cope with these.

Whilst Computers and toy cars are a common with boys and Barbie`s and Bratz continue to be favourites for girls you have to be ready for the unexpected request especially children wanting petes, I always try to explain how much care and attention those type of presents require. Santa should also keep up with the latest fads and also marketing information because each year there is a must have toy that we all know that is not going to be available until February!!!

Sometimes some answers leave you speechless like the time I asked one lad what he wanted and he said that all he wanted was for his mummy to be well and sent home from hospital, I really did not know what to say.

CHILDREN COME FIRST

Such challenging situations are not unusual, especially when spending time with children who have serious illnesses or emotional issues.
It`s a big responsibility but Santa`s take them seriously.

With lots of grottos disappearing as shopping malls and shops look to maximise profitable use of floor space. Santa thinks it`s sad that Christmas is becoming more commercialised but Santa is on a mission to keep the spirit of Christmas alive.
The job is all about the enthusiasm you get from the children and that look of wonde rin thier eyes when they meet you.

So keep the tradition alive, book a Santa for your company, school, nursery, shop or Grotto.
